The condo
The Capri by the Sea was very good to us. Thank you to Kim for hooking that up!! woot-woot. The sounds of the ocean were relaxing, and the salty air was refreshing. From beginning to end we enjoyed Tequila Clase Azul (nice choice), lazy enchiladas (thanks to my very kind neighbor- Nana, she was so happy to hear that family was in town), flying kites at the beach, boogie boarding, and visiting about nothing of great importance.
Derek getting his boogie on:
Partial pic of JR and Kim (Derek, send me some of your pictures...) :
Kevin with his new kite:
Derek's new box kite. Very cool how it hovers.
we saw this strange elephant one night...
where is Ethan?
There he is.
Never had so much endless fun with a bamboo placemat. Remember throwing it off the balcony and running down to the parking lot? Glad we didn't get into trouble :) I still wonder who set off the fire alarm in the basement at the same time...
Oh and we'll never forget the guy with his portable amp. Nice guitar, bro!
we even played frisbee inside the apartment...
had to include this pic of sitting pool side.
most likely more pictures to come... Guys send me your pictures, mine are so random.
New table
After 11 yrs we/I finally got a kitchen/diningroom table. Spurred in part by the company that trickled in and out during the recent week. The new table will revolutionize activities in the kitchen...
Here is a picture of the old table (for those who hadn't seen it):
Kevin and Pat are... well... enjoying playing games..
Ok here we are putting the table together. Thanks Lorenzo for helping us.. The guys did all of the work while the ladies sat back and watched. Good job everyone.
Here is a random picture at the condo of Kim and Derek, wonder what they are up to? Anyway, teamwork is the best way to go. Hope Ganesh makes it home all in one piece.

Straw bale day
Today we drove out to Deerhorn Valley, and spent the day with good friends. We all helped plaster a little bit of a straw bale house, built in part by my dear friend Nicki's dad, Paul. Very beautiful area, and wonderful people.
Here is a picture of Kevin swinging, the house is in the background. Note the 1950s Caldwell Era Posts on the porch, originally from the Casa de Bandini (aka Cosmopolitan Hotel) in Old Town San Diego.
who needs gloves?
The inside is amazing!

And then, came home to a lovely surprise, the Hoya is blooming.

We planted corn, squash, carrots, poppies, basil (more basil because we like basil), & sunflowers, all from seed in our mini greenhouse. Not much to see yet... hopefully soon. Summer Solstice is coming up June 21st, wanted to give the seedlings a head start.

And the museum, of course.
Rachel and Kevin's favorite exhibit at the Museum of Man. Sandpainting.

And what really made Kevin's day was
MONOPOLY!!!!!!!!!!!
Then we had a meltdown and headed home..... and took a nap.
